We know that in order to foster new leaders, we must provide students with opportunities to develop their leadership skills. That’s why, through our leadership program, we teach students who have achieved their red belt or higher how to become instructors enunblog.Our instructors-in-training are taught how to teach taekwondo in a martial arts class. They start out role-playing, progress to leading warm-ups and stretches, one-on-one teaching, instructing 4-5 students at a time, before finally leading an entire class.Our leadership program offers many benefits to our instructors-in-training including:receiving feedback on their progress as leaders and earning raises; developing positive leadership qualities including confidence, discipline, commitment, and good communication skills; improving their own martial arts and taekwondo skills; and obtaining future employment opportunities at Studios Group Martial Arts Calgary.
